Questions Tucson callers ask

Most first-time callers work through the same short list, so here it is in plain language. Don’t see your exact case here? Send a quote request and we’ll get you a straight answer back before the day’s out.

Local pricing at a glance

  • $155/hr — two movers and a truck, with blankets, dollies, shrink-wrap, and drive time included.
  • $205/hr — three movers and a truck for bigger loads and stair-heavy adobe homes.
  • Long-distance runs a binding flat rate written before we load — no fuel surcharge after the fact.

Licensing and coverage

We hold Arizona household-goods mover authority plus US DOT and MC authority for interstate. Released-value coverage is included at $0.60/lb, with full-value protection up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment on request. Claims carry a nine-month filing window.

Are you a moving company?
Yes — 3 Gorillas Moving is a fully licensed and insured Tucson, AZ moving company running our own trucks and uniformed crew, with Arizona household-goods mover authority plus US DOT and MC authority.
How much does a local Tucson move cost?
Two movers and a truck run $155/hr; three movers run $205/hr, both including blankets, dollies, and shrink-wrap. The clock starts when we reach your door, not when we leave the Stone Avenue yard.
How far ahead should I book?
Summer weekends and month-end dates fill three to four weeks out, while off-season mid-month jobs we can often book inside a week. Cody flags any monsoon storm that threatens your loading day.
Do you pack, or just move?
Both. Our hourly crew loads, hauls, and unloads with everything blanketed; full-pack service, where we bring all the boxes and paper, is a separate line on the estimate.
Do you move long-distance out of Arizona?
Yes — we hold US DOT and MC interstate authority and run lanes across the Southwest. See the routes hub for transit windows and starting prices.
Do you offer storage between move dates?
Yes — short-term, secured storage billed by the week, handy for closing-date gaps. The same crew loads out when your new place is ready.
Can you send a certificate of insurance for my building?
Yes. Renata issues COIs for apartment complexes, condos, and job sites — just send the building's requirements when you book.
Do you move pianos and specialty items?
Yes — Diego's crew handles uprights, baby grands, and safes through tight barrio doorways and Foothills stairs. It's a flat add-on, written on the estimate up front.
How do I pay, and is a deposit required?
We take card, check, or cash, and a small deposit holds your date and applies to the final bill. The balance is due on completion, at the price your estimate locked in.

A note from Marco

I started 3 Gorillas Moving back in 2014 on one rule I have never bent: the number we put in writing is the number you pay — no curbside add-ons, ever. Every job rolls on our own trucks with a crew I hired and trained myself.

Whether it is a one-bedroom near downtown Tucson or a full house crossing Southern Arizona, you get the same crew and the same written flat rate every time. That steadiness is what keeps Tucson families handing our name to their neighbors.
